Welcome to Mariposa Farm
We are a family farm located in western New Jersey. Our farm is an oasis for all life to thrive on our green pastures. We raise high quality registered Katahdin sheep for breeding stock, and we sell delicious, pastured lamb. Our bees forage local flowers to produce an exceptional honey.
Our Beginnings......
Mariposa means ‘butterfly’ in Spanish. They have always been a symbol of metamorphosis and change, as they transform from a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. Our own struggles can give birth to something new and wonderful too.
Waldo Hotz visioned a sustainable farm to grow food for his family and community. He looked far ahead and always said that it was for the next generation.
